That women not being recognized as equals is a matter of deep concern. What is also disturbing is the fact that it is not only in the capital city where women are accorded scant respect, but that it is widespread across the country in varying degrees. As a vibrant city that is home to thousands of students from across the country and the world and thousands of professionals in the IT/ITES industry of whom over 40% are women, it is critical that we make our women safe and secure and enable them to lead their lives with dignity they so richly des...
